The nice full-page woodcut by URS GRAF showing the resurrected Christ appearing to the Apostles, with animals representing the Evangelists in the corners. Text printed in gothic script, in 2 columns, beautiful woodcut initials. Waterstaining, mainly marginal, to title, first 3 and final 3 leaves, occasional spotting and few tiny wormholes. Contemporary pigskin binding on wooden boards, with rich blind tooling (faces and floral motives), small rest. on lower boards, lacking clasps, title in ink on spine, blue edges|
|Note:||Early edition of the collection of life stories and deeds of saints, which was quite popular in the 15th and 16th century. Up until today, the writing, which is arranged according to the church's calendar, serves as an important source for research on saints. First released in Vicenza in 1493|
