The Kiao Yao Su Len is a clear and reasoned statement of the truths of the Christian religion most necessary to know for the Catechumens who are preparing for Baptism. Its author is the famous Father Ferdinand VERBIEST, known in China as Nan Huairen. This work is being specially intended for the missionaries who work in the Song-kiang-Fou (Songjiang district of modern Shanghai) and was made on the vulgar version of the Kiao Yao Su Len in the language of Song-Kiang, Shanghai. The figuration of Chinese is marked in the same way as in the translation of the catechism.
