Description:In-4°, [32] + 508 [i.e. 512] + [63 + 1 blanco] pp. Text in 2 columns. With the arms of Philippe de Noircarmes, heer van Sainte-Aldegonde, portrait of the author, 70 woodcuts in text and on the last page the arms of the author. Errors in pagination, foxing, some pages browned.
Contemporary pigskin binding, with blind tooling, on the upper board a Lady Justitia, holding up a sword and scales. On the lower board figure of Lucretia, rubbed. some stains. With the device: "Justicie quisquis picturam lumine cernis dic Deus" / "Casta tulit magnam forme lucretia laudem facta".
Provenance: with the name of Johann Busereut(h) inside, German lawyer and author living from 1548-1610.
Another ms. ex libris on title page, circa 30 blank leaves bound in the beginning of the volume
Note:Last work edited and corrected by the author. Torture, duel, forgery, homicide, adultery etc. are represented in beautiful woodcuts.
