Johann Froben acquired the citizenship of Basel on 13.11.1490 and produces his first registered book on 27.6.1491. In the year 1500 he printed 3 books in partnership with Amerbach. He printed on into the 16th century, becoming the chief Basel printer. He died in 1527.
