Lacking title page, large initial L on criblé ground. Both volumes with many contemporary annotations by the French lawyer of Nancy, Nicolaus de Lescut (died in 1580), author of 'Tractarum de testium examinatione' (1540) and other juridical books. He is best known for having been one of the negotiators of the treaty of Nuremberg (1542) on behalf of the duke of Lorraine. Lorraine became a protectorate rather than an integral part of the Holy Roman Empire by this Treaty.
