Description:In-folio (30 x 21 cm), 244 leaves out of 246 (wants F4 and BB4, the latter being the final' leaf containing the register and imprint), roman letter, 2 columns of 46 lines, 36 large circular woodcuts in rectangular frames decorated with arabesque motifs on a black or criblé ground. Fine woodcut title in red and black, 6 pages within woodcut borders, two slightly cut into, and numerous woodcut initials containing figures illustrating the text, margin of title repaired and very slightly defective, corner of f. 163 missing with loss of text and part of the woodcut, the devil in the woodcut on f. 181 slightly defaced and a few other cuts touched with colour, last three leaves of Table remargined and slightly defective, small repairs in a few other leaves, some leaves misbound. Some damp staining at the end.

Note:"This edition is a perfect storehouse of interesting ornamental letters. At the commencement of each book there is a half-page engraving representing an incident in the life of the first saint whose history follows, and this is surrounded by a handsome ornamental border".
